Antonio Conte speaks about his Tottenham Hotspur future amidst recent uncertainty
Antonio Conte has put an end to all the recent uncertainty about his Tottenham Hotspur future, having expressed his desire to stay with the club moving forward. There have been lots of talks among pundits and fans that he would look to depart N17 before even completing a full season.
Tottenham signed the Italian coach to replace Nuno Espirito Santo back in November during a dire time. Things have become better since then, but struggles have been a part of the process as well. That has been the case recently due to the inconsistent form the team displayed in the past six matches or so. Hence, many believed he would pack his bags next summer despite penning a contract until 2023.
Speaking in an open interview (h/t Football.London), Conte has conveyed that he has his mind set to stay with Spurs next campaign as well. Moreover, the manager even goes on to say that he enjoys working at the club as the management are finally on the same page with him.
“For sure at the moment there is only one truth – I am committed to this club for another year. The club wanted this type of situation and I accepted it because it was good to get to know each other.”
“After four months I think the club have understood the way I want to work and I understand the club. I can tell you that I am enjoying working for this club and I would like to fight for something important for this club.”
Thank goodness!
We have been concerned about the former Inter Milan boss’ situation for quite a while. Thankfully, the coach has addressed the matter by assuring us that he will stay with us next season as well. That being said, the board must stay on the same page with him and back in the transfer windows.
Such noise can get to the minds of the players as well. But they would now be resting assured that the ex-Chelsea boss is with them for at least another season.
Now it is up to Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy to back the man in charge as was the case at the latter’s previous clubs. The 52-year-old coach has proven time and time again that with adequate support, he can “guarantee” success by bringing in silverware.
The club has to show the Italian boss that they have the ambition to compete with the very best teams in the league, and ultimately, in Europe. A league-winner with Chelsea, Juventus and most recently Inter Milan, Conte is a pretty big deal in European football.

Who knows, maybe he could even stay with us past the summer of 2023 since there is the option to extend his current deal if both parties agree to it. The hierarchy must maintain its cordial relationship with the boss moving forward for that to happen.
Right now, everyone’s minds would be completely focused on the task at hand- a very important league fixture against Manchester United in the Premier League tonight. A win here could really lift spirits and propel our season into the right direction as we look to secure a top-four finish.
