Transfer News: Manchester United eyeing fresh move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane
As per the Mirror, Manchester United are considering making a fresh transfer move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in the summer to bolster their attacking ranks in what could be a major blow to Spurs.
Kane nearly completed a move to PL rivals Manchester City last summer, but the Lilywhites managed to hold on to him for yet another season. The Englishman has had his struggles in front of goal since starting the new campaign, but he now looks to be back in form and look like his old self.
After last summer saw the Englishman linked to City, this summer could see their neighbours United pursue him strongly as they look to add attacking reinforcements to their side and add more firepower up top in the first team.
Kane was last seen scoring against the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Saturday, dispatching a penalty to fire home an equaliser in the first half of the game. However, Tottenham would go on to be on the losing end of a 3-2 scoreline at the end of ninety minutes.
Conte influence on Kane
The 28-year-old will have two years left on his current deal at the end of the season, and it is up to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to make a decision on his prize asset in the summer. The club could either convince the talisman to sign a new deal with his boyhood club or risk him running down his contract which could lower his transfer value on the market.
Levy will hope that manager Antonio Conte’s presence in N17 could see them sneak into the Champions League qualification spots by the end of the campaign to persuade Kane to stay. The striker has previously insisted publicly on how much he enjoys working with the new manager. Together, the pair may help us get back to winning trophies.
After a rough start to the season, Kane is slowly getting back to becoming the player we all know him to be. Goals are flowing once again from his boots, and at the business end of the campaign, he may prove to be crucial to our top four hopes in the league.
Winning trophies was the driving force behind his proposed move to City last summer, and with Tottenham once again missing out on silverware this term, the player will need guarantees of titles coming to north London once again. His contract at Spurs expires in the summer of 2024.

In that respect, United do not guarantee any glory. Like us, they are battling to qualify for the Champions League next season, and with a new permanent manager coming in the summer, the future at Old Trafford is unknown.
This is where Spurs’ decision to appoint Conte could help us, with the manager known to be a serial winner wherever he has coached. But then again, one can argue that United have a stronger squad than us- at least on paper. Only time will tell if the Italian’s presence is enough to keep our talisman with us beyond the summer.
