Antonio Conte could try to sign Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski if he moves to AC Milan.

Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Hotspur happy with Swedish attacker Dejan Kulusevski

According to a tweet by Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are more than happy with January signing Dejan Kulusevski. It is also believed that the club views him as an integral part of the long-term project.

The 21-year-old has hit the ground running since arriving at Hotspur Way. He has scored some important goals for the club and is slowly starting to cement his position in the first team lineup.

The Swedish international has a mandatory purchase option should certain criteria be met. This clause would be triggered under the conditions that the player make 15 starts for the Lilywhites, or if they manage to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.

The Lilywhites have to fork out a €10m loan fee until 2023 for Kulusevski. His buy-out clause amounts to €35m by the end of the 2020-21 season and could rise to €40m by the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

The Swedish attacker who is majorly deployed in midfield can also be used further up the pitch on the wing. This versatility brings another dimension to his game and also gives Antonio Conte more options to rotate the squad whenever the need arises.

Is Kulusevski the future of Tottenham

Spurs have struggled with their recruitment in the last few seasons. Club record signing Tanguy Ndombele has struggled to get going ever since coming to North London and was sent back on loan to Olympique Lyonnais in January.

The likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil have also found it difficult to settle into their new life at Tottenham and were subsequently sent out on loan. Despite this worrying track-record, Kulusevski has adapted like a fish to water ever since making the switch to Tottenham.

The 21-year-old attacker seems to be a blessing in disguise after the club failed to land Luis Diaz who eventually made his way to Liverpool. Kulusevski has already netted two goals and provided four assists in 10 games across all competitions for the Lilwyhites to date.

In comparison, the Columbian has managed to bag two goals in 11 appearances for the Reds since coming to Anfield. Whilst this is just the nascent stages of their career, the former Atalanta player could go on to become an integral part of our lineup one day.

At 21, Kulusevski still has most of his prime footballing years ahead of him. He could thus prove to be a perfect long-term asset for the North Londoners. The club would hence be looking to gobble up the opportunity to sign the exciting youngster.
