Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte reveals their approach for West Ham United clash
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has expressed how they will approach their match against West Ham United tomorrow. His side will host the Premier League fixture as both teams would be looking to strengthen their pursuit for a top-four finish in the table.
Speaking in an interview with the club’s media (h/t Tottenham Hotspur official website), Conte has conveyed that Tottenham would need to come into tomorrow’s game with confidence, desire and will to overcome the stern challenge. He added that they need to manage the game while getting three points before going into the international break.
“The difference has to be the desire, the will to get three points. During the game we have to be good, to manage different situations and try to get three points. For sure, it’s an important game for us, also for them, because we have the same target. We have to be confident going into the game on Sunday. We have this game and then the international break. It’s very important to finish in the right way with a good win and a good performance, to show we’re improving.”
The Italian manager did not stop there as he also sent a message to the Spurs supporters. He has mentioned that the fans must create an atmosphere that can boost the players throughout the match.
“The fans are very important to create a fantastic atmosphere around this game and to push us from the start until the end. They will play an important role in this game.”
Rise up to the challenge!
West Ham are sixth in the league table while we hold the seventh place, and both teams are on 48 points each. However, the visitors have played a game more than us, and a win tomorrow could push us ahead of them while having the opportunity to create a bigger gap with that match in hand.
Not to mention, we can even pip Manchester United from the fifth spot as they have 50 points from 29 matches, a game more than us. Getting into the top four places would be difficult with Arsenal being in a better place, but we certainly would have chances with the North London derby yet to be played.
However, our focus should be on overcoming the Hammers by following the instructions given by the 52-year-old coach. The players must realise the importance of this fixture and perform to their best as the boss demands. The fans must provide their support like always in this match as well.

David Moyes’ side are on the back of an impressive comeback victory against Sevilla in the Europa League, which enabled them to qualify for the quarter-finals. That being said, they had to play extra time as well, which we should look to take advantage of tomorrow.
We must play with intensity and tire our London rivals as early as possible due to the advantage that we have gained. That being said, their win over the Spanish club in and of itself should be a warning sign for us. Julen Lopetegui’s side have been great this season, and beating them is no easy task.
Now let’s wait and see how the league fixture plays out tomorrow. That being said, we are hopeful that the players will finally overcome the zig-zag form that we have been going through for quite a while.
