Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusevski showers praise on Antonio Conte and coaching staff
Speaking in an interview as quoted by the Guardian, Spurs’ summer signing Dejan Kulusevski has hailed Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte and his coaching staff for his current run of form.
Kulusevski has been an instant hit since joining Tottenham in the winter transfer window. The Swedish forward has scored two goals and has dished out four assists in 8 Premier League appearances so far. His contributions have directly affected the team’s overall success in the last few months.
However, the situation was very different for him in Turin. The 21-year-old struggled for game time under Massimiliano Allegri. His productivity fell at that time, bagging only one goal and three assists in 20 appearances as he gradually lost his place in Juve’s starting XI.
So the question is how the youngster transformed himself into a beast at Tottenham. Even though his surroundings, teammates and tactics have all changed, Kulusevski has adjusted well to life in London and according to him, it is majorly down to Antonio Conte and his coaching staff.
“It’s especially the coach and the staff who are helping me a lot, letting me make mistakes and be me, letting me play without pressure. When you are good in your mind, you usually play good football. The coach has helped me a lot because I really find my space right now.”
Conte joined Tottenham in early November as a replacement for the underwhelming Nuno Espirito Santo. He was famously a Juve player during their playing days and a manager for three years in Turin, although he never got to coach Kulusevski before their union at Spurs.
But his understanding of Serie A and Juve has clearly benefited us in the form of two signings in Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski. The Swede has instantly strengthened our squad in terms of depth and quality, and has softened the blow of missing out on a quality winger such as Luis Diaz in the January window.
Even though the top-four race isn’t finished, it is incredibly hard for us considering we are trailing Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham. But, the tactical brilliance of our manager coupled with the abilities of our players has the ability to get the job done this season.

Dejan’s aforementioned comments highlight his faith in the boss, and if the players and the manager are in unison and trust each other, then the sky’s the limit for this Spurs side- even if the best case scenario this season is a top-four finish.
Kulusevki and Conte’s focus will now be on the game against West Ham United today, with a chance to close the gap on fourth-placed Arsenal and overtake the Red Devils.
