Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window
According to Radio Kiss via Tutto Napoli (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur could push for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. It is believed that Antonio Conte ‘really likes’ the player.
Newcastle United are also interested in securing his services before the start of the 2022-23 season. The Magpies have received a financial boost ever following the takeover by the Saudi-led consortium.
The Tyneside-based club could thus be attempting an audacious transfer for the 23-year-old in a bid to take their club to the next level. This could prove to be a grave obstacle for Spurs if their interest in the Nigerian professional is significant.
The 23-year-old has become an integral part of the Partenopei attack. He has already scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 24 matches across all competitions for the Serie A club this campaign.
Another striker at Hotspur Way
The North Londoners have one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League in the form of Harry Kane. The English captain has been the focal point of our attack for a few years now. After a slow start to the season, the 28-year-old has found his exceptional form once again.
The English striker has already bagged 22 goals and notched up four assists in 40 games across all competitions with Spurs this campaign. Apart from the impressive stats, his range of passing and ability to drop into pockets of space helps open up pathways for other attackers in the team.
Despite these solid numbers, there is always an innate fear as the rumour mill has been linking him with a move away from the club for a while now. The names of arch-rivals Manchester United and Manchester City have been very prominent when it comes to transfer rumours surrounding Kane.
The club does not have any like-for-like replacement in the striker department as Dane Scarlett is still too young to shoulder that responsibility on a regular basis. Osimhen could thus be a great acquisition should the English captain look to ply his trade elsewhere.
At 23, the Nigerian international could also be seen as a long-term successor to Harry Kane. The former LOSC Lille striker could help take the club in the right direction and provide a solid attacking outlet in the years to come.

The potential lack of European football could be a stumbling block in their pursuit at the moment. This coupled with the interest from the Toons adds another layer of difficulty to the task at hand. Keeping these factors in mind, Fabio Paratici may have to pull a rabbit out of the hat if they are really interested in getting this one across the line.
