Son Heung-Min delivers verdict on Tottenham Hotspur display in 3-1 win vs West Ham United
Tottenham Hotspur winger Son Heung-Min has provided his thoughts on their display as his side beat West Ham United by a 3-1 scoreline. He was sensational on the night, having been involved in all three goals for Spurs, helping them to fifth in the Premier League table.
Coming into this game, Son was in a bit of a rut in terms of his performances, and there were even questions about whether he should start the match against West Ham or not. However, the winger did bounce back from his setback with a strong display against one of the direct rivals. Having scored two goals and forced an own-goal from Kurt Zouma, he looked back to be at his best once again.
Speaking after the match on N17 Live (h/t Tottenham Hotspur official website), The South Korean has expressed that the overall display from Tottenham was really good against the Hammers. However, he added that they could have scored a lot more goals and put the game to bed much earlier than how it unravelled in the end.
“The performance, the effort, the commitment was just fantastic and for me, we deserved it. The way we played in the first half, created chances, we should have scored many more goals than the three we scored, to be honest. We totally deserved it.”
Strong statement from Spurs!
There were quite a lot of concerns in the build-up to the match against David Moyes’ side within the fanbase. After all, we were in a zig-zag run that saw the team follow up a win by a subsequent loss. As such, there were fears about the form continuing to be inconsistent, but fortunately, that was not the case.
Not to mention, the London rivals were also on the back of an impressive victory against Sevilla in the Europa League that saw the former qualify to the next round. However, it was really good to see the team rise to the occasion and drop a great display against the visitors.

The victory helped us to strengthen our chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League as we jumped up to fifth in the league table. With 51 points from 29 games, we pipped Manchester United to the fifth spot, having played the same number of matches.
However, we must now set our focus on Arsenal, who lead us by three points while having a game in hand. That is a bit concerning, to say the least, since they have been in fine form under Mikel Arteta. However, the North London derby is yet to be played, and we can use that to our advantage to put further pressure on our pursuit to achieve CL qualification.
