Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur target Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus this summer
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t Liverpool Echo), Juventus director Maurizio Arrivabene has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur target Paulo Dybala will leave them in the summer transfer window. This update would undoubtedly put several clubs on red alert, considering how they can get a man of his quality for free after this season.
Dybala has less than six months left in his current deal with Juve, and an extension is supposedly ruled out after this latest update. Arrivabene himself has confirmed that the forward would leave Turin this summer, which would undoubtedly give a massive boost to Tottenham and their pursuit to sign the attacker.
“We won’t extend Paulo Dybala’s contract. We’re not gonna do any other proposal – the decision has been made.”
Romano has claimed that the Argentine’s agent will now begin negotiations with other clubs as they look to find the next destination for the forward after this campaign. After all, they can reach a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs at this moment due to the current contract situation.
Should Spurs sign Dybala?
Now that we have received some confirmation on the subject, the North London side would be smart to make their case at the earliest and bring the 28-year-old to N17. We are currently building a project under Antonio Conte, and signing someone like the ex-Palermo forward would be a major statement from us.
That being said, we have to be concerned about the competition who will be vying to secure the Serie A ace’s signature this summer. Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Inter Milan have been credited with interest at this moment.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds and Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens are the obvious concern, looking at how good they have been over the past few years. But with Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte having an extensive past relationship with Juve, it remains to be seen if we can have the upper hand in any potential deal.
Although negotiations with the Old Lady won’t really matter if Dybala is to leave as a free agent, given he would then be a free agent this summer.

While we have brought in Deja Kulusevski on the right wing in the January transfer window, we could still use some more reinforcements. Lucas Moura has fared well for us, but Dybala would arguably be an instant upgrade over several Spurs attackers. Who knows, maybe the Spurs boss could even tinker with the formation and use the Juve star as a number ten as well.
Dybala would greatly boost our attacking options while offering more choices for Conte to choose from next term. His versatility and quality would be a boon for any team and it is now up to the Spurs board if they really want a world-class playmaker like him at the club this summer.
