Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur keeping tabs on Galatasaray winger Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu
According to the Turkish outlet Aksam (h/t Yorkshire Evening Post), Tottenham Hotspur are currently monitoring the situation of Galatasaray winger Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu ahead of the summer transfer window. He has been one of the few shining lights for his side this season and his output has also helped them to a respectable place in the Turkish Super Lig table.
Kerem Akturkoglu has been in fine form this campaign, and his performances have not gone unnoticed as Tottenham have entered the mix. That being said, they also face competition from their bitter rivals in Arsenal, who are also tracking the attacker at this moment. As such, a potential bidding war could take place at the end of this term.
The 23-year-old has scored 11 goals while assisting nine times this season from 44 matches across all competitions. He has often carried his side with his displays as the Turkish giants have faltered this term as they are in 15th place in the league table at this point in time. That was the case in their defeat to Barcelona in the Europa League, as he was often the only threat for his side on the night.
Who is Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu?
The Turkish international is a left-winger in trade but is versatile enough to play in various positions in the attack. That could help Antonio Conte tinker with formations should Spurs sign him in the future. Conte and the forward could be a match made in heaven as the latter’s work effort would certainly suit someone like the boss.
Kerem Akturkoglu is a constant threat from the wide-areas as he uses his guile and dribbling skills to get past opponents with ease. What makes it all the more interesting is his finishing ability to put in goals from all sorts of areas, even from long distances.
The Gala forward is yet to fully achieve his true potential, and he can certainly grow even further under the right guidance. The Tottenham manager can definitely help him as the boss has done with several of our players in the short time he has spent at N17.
Son Heung-Min would be an obvious starter on the left-hand side of the attack, but we lack adequate options to support him moving forward. Bryan Gil is currently out on loan at Valencia and could use more time with them to develop his game and earn game time, unlike his time in North London.

As for Steven Bergwijn, it is really difficult to understand what had happened with him having fallen out of favour under the Italian coach. The initial sentiment among the supporters was that he would finally end by being a success following his impressive performances against West Ham United and Leicester City, for example.
However, Bergwijn has not featured much since then, and we could potentially see a departure as a result in the future. Hence, Kerem Akturkoglu can be a great choice to add more quality to our ranks as we look to rebuild our team under Conte. Whether a move will happen or not remains to be seen.
