Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici opens transfer talks with Antonio Conte ahead of the summer transfer window
Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici has revealed that he has started talks with Antonio Conte regarding their transfer dealings ahead of the summer transfer window. Big things are expected of the club in the transfer window, having appointed a proven winner in Conte.
Tottenham opened things up on the right track under Conte when they brought in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur in the January transfer window. While the circumstances that led to those moves are questionable, the club did well to overcome the shortcoming and sign two players who have done well so far.
Speaking in an interview with the club’s media (h/t Evening Standard), Paratici has pointed out that their first priority would be to see out the current season. However, he did say that they are planning for the future and has held talks with the Italian coach regarding the subject.
“The most important thing is to be focused on the rest of this season. And the second is my job, but it is not just my job but the job of my structure, so the scouting department and speaking with the staff and with Antonio every day about what we can do to improve this team. So it is normal that when we speak about the summer we speak about recruitment, but we work every day and we speak all the time about what we can do to be better, so we follow like this.”
Summer plans underway
It is good to know that matters off the field are going smoothly at this moment, and there are plans to reinforce the squad in the summer transfer window. It is pretty obvious that we need to bolster the team in several areas of the pitch and the task at hand is a massive one for sure.
One could even say that we could potentially see an overhaul happen in the summer if the North London side backs the 52-year-old manager and his ambitions. Conte is known for his winning mentality, which is evident from his time at his previous clubs.
The Tottenham boss has brought in trophies in return, and the management should replicate the same moving forward. That being said, it would be best if we could remove the mistakes we have made in the past, like ones we made with Luis Diaz and Adama Traore.

It will be interesting to see the finer details of Paratici and Conte’s discussions. But one could say that there would at least be one signing in positions like striker, central midfield, centre-back, right-wingback and goalkeeper.
Tottenham’s task is not enviable but we must solve the issues in those areas if there are ambitions to challenge the heavyweights and finally put an end to our trophy drought.
