Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur rival Arsenal to sign Wolfsburg striker Omar Marmoush
According to the German news outlet Bild (h/t The Sun), Tottenham Hotspur will face off against Arsenal to facilitate a move for Wolfsburg striker Omar Marmoush in the summer transfer window. He is currently on a season-long loan deal at Stuttgart, where he has excelled despite their disappointing season.
Marmoush will see his contract with the parent club expire in the summer of 2023. His performances in the Bundesliga have not gone unnoticed, as Tottenham and the Gunners are keeping tabs on him at this moment. Both of them are looking to prise him away after this season to add to their respective squads.
Both North London clubs have been boosted by the fact that the Egyptian wants to move to the Premier League one day. The attacker had expressed in the past that he has a desire to follow Mohamed Salah’s route and join a top English side sometime in the future. Perhaps that could happen this summer if the stars align up for it.
Who is Omar Marmoush?
Primarily a centre-forward, the 23-year-old can also play as a left-winger without a drop in the quality of his displays. What’s more, he can also play across several positions in the attacking department if there is a need for it. His versatility would be a great asset to us as it can offer Antonio Conte many options to choose from.
The Bundesliga ace’s qualities do suit Conte’s style of play, which means that a potential transfer could be a match made in heaven. The forward excels in counterattack situations where he can use his sublime dribbling skills and combine that with his knack to find the net from long distances.
Not to mention, the African does not hesitate to put in the shift defensively as well, which would undoubtedly be attractive to any manager. He is also a free-kick specialist, and his tendency to win fouls makes him an even further threat to the opposition.
Die Schwaben are dangerously close to relegation in the league right now and could even go down if not for a turnaround in their fortunes. That’s what makes the Wolfsburg loanee’s three goals and four assists from 17 appearances even more impressive, having helped them to keep afloat outside of the drop zone.

We do not have a backup option for Harry Kane, and Marmoush could be a perfect option for us. His contract situation also means that he would not be too expensive and could offer genuine quality in our ranks. We will need to deal with Mikel Arteta’s side, though, who are desperate for strikers as well.
It remains to be seen if Die Wolfe will be willing to part ways with their loanee or not after this term. Fabio Paratici must do his best and get him in the bag, as we cannot afford to go another season without having backup options to Kane.
