Hugo Lloris reveals why Harry Kane is excelling at Tottenham Hotspur under Antonio Conte
Hugo Lloris has provided the reason for Harry Kane performing at his usual best at Tottenham Hotspur under Antonio Conte over the past few months or so. The striker has rejuvenated himself after his form was dwindling at the beginning of this season.
Kane had dropped yet another fine display in the recent 4-0 thumping of Aston Villa. He assisted two of the goals on the night as the talisman showcased his overall ability once again. Despite the lack of a goal, the centre-forward was one of the best performers for Tottenham, which goes in line with the improvements he has made under Conte so far.
Speaking in an open interview (h/t Football.London), Lloris has weighed in with his thoughts on the England skipper’s resurgence under the Spurs boss. The shot-stopper has expressed that the attacker has become accustomed to the coach’s tactics, which is the reason for his splendid performances.
“I believe he understands very well the manager’s system. He understands very well his task and responsibilities. As you can see, he enjoys very much dropping [deep] to get the ball and making assists. We know he can make the difference at any moment.”
“He’s very dangerous. Whether he’s close to the goal or far from the goal, he can do everything and it’s a big skill. It’s a big help for the team when you have a player like him.”
Kane and Conte, what a match!
The Italian boss has truly reignited the 28-year-old attacker’s lost mojo, which did help the latter win the Premier League Player of the Month Award for March. That has eventually played a part in the team’s success which has seen us become firmly in contention to finish in the top four places of the PL table.
Kane’s recent two assists have increased his tally to 15 goals and eight assists under Conte from 29 matches this term across all competitions. We are glad to see how the duo has formed a formidable pairing with each other. Having two world-class personnel like them would ensure that we have the maximum chances of attaining success moving forward.
The Tottenham talisman has truly taken his game to another level under the former Chelsea coach. The striker did showcase his playmaking qualities when Jose Mourinho was our manager.
But those who have followed Kane’s career can tell that he has arguably become more well rounded over the past few months with regards to playing as a striker and a playmaker up front. Even when he does not make an impact in the goal involvements, it is evident how he influences the team’s playstyle with his creative abilities.

Through Kane, we now have a goalscorer and a playmaker at the same time in our ranks. Dare we say, his current profile seems similar to Lionel Messi’s even though both of them have different qualities of their own. Let’s hope that the Spurs ace can carry this form to ensure we have the best chance to qualify for the next season’s Champions League.
