Tottenham Hotspur dealt a blow as Paulo Dybala is in transfer talks with Inter Milan
According to the Italian source La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t The Sun), Tottenham Hotspur have received a blow as Paulo Dybala is currently engaged in talks with Inter Milan over a potential summer transfer. He is set to leave Juventus at the end of the current campaign, which has alerted several clubs across Europe.
Dybala will become a free agent this summer, and a contract extension with Juve seems to be out of the cards right now. Tottenham have expressed an interest to finalise a move for him in the upcoming summer transfer window. They are not alone, though, with Inter also joined by Arsenal and Newcastle United at this moment.
However, the Nerazzurri are looking to raise their efforts in the coming days as they look to put this transfer race to bed. Discussions with the Argentine have been going on for quite some time, with his agent set to meet Inter officials again next week. They are also claimed to be more likely to complete a transfer ahead of the three Premier League sides in the fray.
Spurs to lose out on Dybala?
Losing out on a talented individual like the 28-year-old would always be a blow for any team, which is especially the case if he becomes available on a free transfer. However, that may not be the case this time around for us, considering how Dejan Kulusevski has performed since his move in January.
It is stated that Dybala has demanded Simone Inzaghi’s side to give him assurances about the role he would get in their team. If that is the case, then it is probable that he would do the same with us as well. However, we cannot offer him such guarantees due to Kulusevski’s presence on the right-wing.
One could argue that we can replace Lucas Moura with Dybala, which would be a great piece of business indeed. However, it would not be realistic to expect the Juve attacker to agree to play as a second fiddle to Kulusevski in our squad.
Not to mention, Dybala has also suffered from quite a lot of injury problems over the last few years. As such, we should not be desperate to bring him to N17 after taking all these factors into consideration.

Then again, if Antonio Conte asks Fabio Paratici and co to sign Dybala, we should back him by finalising a transfer for the Argentinian. While Inter are ahead of us right now, things can be turned around in the coming months since we can reach a pre-contract agreement with the forward, unlike them.
However, the Gunners and Newcastle also enjoy the same benefits, which makes up for an interesting couple of months ahead of the summer transfer window. Hence, let’s wait and see how this transfer race shapes up to be moving forward.
