Tottenham Hotspur told Manchester City and Liverpool would love to sign Son Heung-Min
Tottenham Hotspur have been cautioned that Manchester City and Liverpool would love to sign Son Heung-Min to add to their respective squads. Owen Hargreaves, who played as a defensive midfielder for Bayern Munich between 2000 and 2007, has shared that opinion.
Son has been excellent throughout this season, and he took the mantle from Harry Kane when the latter struggled to get going in the first half of this campaign. While the winger did run into some issues here and there, one cannot overlook how often he has been decisive for Tottenham this season. Hargreaves has now expressed that top teams in the Premier League would like a man of his talents in their ranks.
Speaking on Premier League Productions (h/t Football.London), the ex- Bayern Munchen ace has conveyed that Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp would be delighted to have the South Korean in their teams. The former midfielder added that Manchester United would be wager as well for the way the forward carries himself and for his renowned finishing ability.
“I think Pep (Guardiola) takes him and puts him into the starting XI. Man(chester) United would be desperate for him. I think Klopp would absolutely adore him. The thing is, he scores goals and is a good lad. All of those managers want a good teammate. His nickname is ‘Sonny’ because all he does is smile. Everybody wants a guy like that. And Son is an unbelievable finisher.”
Spurs need to worry?
The 29-year-old has been at his best this term as he has 18 goals and eight assists to his name from 39 appearances across all competitions. That is a great return indeed, and his contributions have helped us be in contention to achieve Champions League qualification.
However, there have not been any indications from the Premier League star that he is unhappy with his life at N17. The attacker has given his all every time he has performed on the pitch for us, indicating that we would not need to worry about Man City or the Reds should they formally register their interests.
What’s more, we have also been at our very best in a long time under Antonio Conte in the past few weeks. As such, we have the foundations upon which further progress can be made moving forward to finally give us a genuine chance to satisfy our title aspirations.

That’s not all, as Son also did renew his contract last summer, which further indicates how he is seemingly unlikely to leave us under the current circumstances. Hence, it is very difficult to see the superstar departing the North London side after taking all these matters into consideration.
We would love to see the Asian attacker continue his current form for the remainder of this term to give us the best chance to achieve a top-four finish in the league table. Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen.
