Tottenham Hotspur confident that Harry Kane will stay with them past this season
According to Daily Mail Online, Tottenham Hotspur are ‘quietly confident’ that Harry Kane will decide to stay with them past this season. His future has been up in the air for quite a while, but it seems that the uncertainty has been brought to an end following the latest developments.
Kane tried to push for an exit for Tottenham last summer, but he failed to facilitate a transfer. There were fears that he could try to cause unrest once again, but those worries have been squashed after the latest updates. They are now growing hopeful that he will stay with them, with the interested parties moving away by the minute.
Manchester City, who had tried to finalise a move for the England skipper last summer, have turned their attention towards Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. Manchester United’s chances, meanwhile, depended upon PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino joining them, but that seems off the cards with Erik Ten Hag set to take over the managerial job from the next season onwards.
Great news!
Fans would be ecstatic if this turns out to be cases, considering how crucial Kane can be to our future success. He has overcome the struggles that he underwent during the start of this campaign and is now firing on all cylinders under Antonio Conte.
The 28-year-old is currently contracted at N17 until 2024, but he has shown no real indications of being interested in an extension. However, the North Londoners believe that there are no longer any clubs that would cause concerns for them, with Man City and Man United turning their attention elsewhere.
That’s not all, as the team has not looked this good in quite a long time which has instilled a belief that Conte can finally give us the titles that we have been yearning for so far. That is certainly a possibility, looking at how the boss has transformed this team and put them in contention to qualify for next term’s Champions League.
Hence, if we could finish in the top four places in the Premier League table, we would have more incentives to convince the Spurs superstar to extend his contract. But that is not all, as the board would do well to surround Kane with world-class talent that can help him win his first major trophy in his career.
This will be the first summer transfer window that Conte will have as Spurs’ manager and despite two late January signings in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, perhaps some would feel that Conte wasn’t backed enough.

The Lilywhites are still without a natural number 9 that can compete with Kane for starts, partner him up front, or can act as his understudy. Moreover, the backline can do with some more depth as well, given Conte’s use of an extra centre-back from the more conventional approach of playing two central defenders.
Nevertheless, fans and the club itself would understand that if the club wants to be successful, then Kane would be a big part of that project. His goals, assists, and playmaking capabilities make him our primary attacking threat up front along with Son Heung-min and Spurs faithful would hope he retires with us- whenever that may be.
