Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte makes interesting admission regarding top-four race
Speaking to the media as quoted by Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte highlighted the difficulty of the top-four race in the Premier League ahead of the match vs Brentford.
A qualifying spot for the UEFA Champions League seemed like a distant reality not too long ago. The tide has now turned in our favour as a fourth-place finish in the PL seems like a real possibility at the moment.
That being said, now is not the time to become complacent as we head into the latter end of the season. The North Londoners have largely managed to put up excellent displays in their recent fixtures with the exception of the match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
In his address to the media, Conte gave us his take on the top four rac in England’s top flight. He also mentioned that one must be aware of Arsenal, Manchester United, West Ham United as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Now for sure we are in this race, I want to try to stay until the end. We know very well the difficulty. I don’t think Chelsea can go in this race because Chelsea is in my opinion in a different level. They are there because they missed some games but they must stay in this race. We have to fight with Arsenal who showed yesterday to be in good form, with Man United, West Ham and also there is Wolverhampton
Champions League for Spurs?
It would be fair to say that the Italian manager has changed our fortunes in a relatively small period of time. That being said, there is still a long way to go should we be competing for the top positions, as made evident in the fixture against the Seagulls.
The Lilwyhites would be looking to put that result behind them as they take on the Bees in their next match. One should note that Conte’s men were on a decent run, winning four of their matches prior to the defeat against Graham Potter’s men.
These victories not only bagged us three important points but also let us witness an exciting brand of football. After the match against Thomas Frank’s men, we head into a tough run of fixtures taking on Leicester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal respectively.
We would thus be looking to gain some much-needed momentum against Brentford. It could be a nice way to fire us up at the business end of the season. Whilst that is said, the West London club are well drilled to absorb pressure and attack in bursts which could make this an enticing fixture, to say the least.

We would also get to see our former talisman Christian Eriksen whose return to football has been nothing short of miraculous. Seeing the former Spurs talisman in the opposition lineup may trigger bittersweet moments, to say the least.
