Arsenal shortlist Tottenham Hotspur linked Tammy Abraham as a potential transfer target
According to Football.London, Arsenal have shortlisted Tammy Abraham as a potential transfer target who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur. He has enjoyed quite a solid season at AS Roma so far, having impressed in his first season away from England.
Abraham’s hot form under Jose Mourinho’s guidance has seen him get linked with a return to the Premier League. Chelsea are claimed to be interested in a reunion, having sold him last summer. Tottenham have also been linked with a potential move, and now the Gunners have entered the fray.
Mikel Arteta’s side have shortlisted the Englishman alongside Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus ahead of the summer transfer window. The latter’s representatives have held talks with Arsenal’s sporting director Edu over the past few months regarding a transfer. That could help Spurs in their pursuit to sign Abraham, although they would also face competition from Manchester United and Man City.
Trouble for Spurs?
Arteta’s team’s interest in Abraham certainly does not help Antonio Conte’s side when it comes to a future move. Fortunately, it seems that a potential transfer for Jesus has made more progress compared to that of the Roma striker. That could probably give us a sigh of relief, although things could easily take a turn for the worse.
We must also be wary of the other interested parties as well, considering how all of them are capable of piping us to any transfer targets. That being said, we are no pushovers either, especially considering how we are looking to build a strong project for the future under Conte.
In such a case, signing talented individuals like Abraham would certainly help, looking at how he has scored 24 goals and assisted five times this term from 46 matches across all competitions. That being said, our pursuit could probably depend on Harry Kane’s future which is in uncertain waters for now.
After all, it is difficult to see the Tottenham boss change to a two-man striker attack, especially since Dejan Kulusevski’s arrival back in January. Moreover, with Kane still at risk of leaving N17, it does make sense to view Abraham as a direct replacement rather than someone who could play alongside the England skipper.

It is still unknown whether Mourinho’s side or even Abraham himself would be willing to entertain offers from our side after this campaign. However, we must not let up since losing Kane could be detrimental and replacing him would be a stern challenge indeed. Only time will give us an answer in that regard as we near the summer transfer window.
