West Ham United pose new competition to Tottenham Hotspur for Torino star Andrea Belotti
According to Ekrem Konur of Fichajes (h/t The Sun), West Ham United pose a new competition to Tottenham Hotspur for signing Torino star Andrea Belotti this summer. He is expected to leave Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino at the end of the current campaign.
Belotti will leave the Italian side as a free agent in the summer transfer window. He has refused to pen a new offer resulting in the current situation. As such, West Ham have now entered the race to sign him as they are searching the market for a centre-forward addition to add more competition to Michail Antonio.
The Hammers have also proposed a three-year contract as they have made an early move to reach a pre-contract agreement. Tottenham will need to respond if they have active plans to secure the Italian international’s signature, with their London rivals setting things up for a potential transfer.
Perfect addition for Spurs?
The 28-year-old has certainly fallen off from his peak days as he has failed to hit the same peak over the last few years. It has been the case this term as well, although his recent slump has been down to the injuries he has picked up throughout the campaign.
Despite these setbacks, the Serie A ace has five goals and an assist to his name this season from 18 appearances which amounts to just 1123 minutes in the league. He could be a solid centre-forward reinforcement in our ranks, considering how we lack a reliable backup for Harry Kane.
The lack of a proper backup option for Kane has affected us many times this term which means that we must address the matter this summer. Belotti is a great shout in that regard, but competition from Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Atalanta does not help us in our pursuit.

With David Moyes’ side now entering the fray, we need to be vigilant at all times to facilitate a move for Belotti. They have already made an offer, so we cannot let them get ahead of us and reach a pre-contract agreement.
After all, the Italian can decide to join a foreign club because of his contract situation. That means we need not worry about the interests of the two Serie A sides for now. As such, we must use that advantage and focus our attention on beating the remaining rivals to complete a deal. Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen.
