Antonio Conte speaks about his future at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the fixture vs Leicester City
Speaking in his pre-match presser as quoted by the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte gave us an interesting insight into his future and ambitions ahead of their Premier League tie against Leicester City.
The Italian manager has recently been linked to the likes of PSG but has blatantly described them as fake news. That being said, there is still a sense of uncertainty looming around his long-term future at Hotspur Way and his recent comments being open to interpretation.
Conte is understood to be keen to have talks with the Spurs sporting director Daniel Levy regarding the ambition of the club. The 52-year-old manager would be looking for significant backing and a good reshuffle if he wants the Lilywhites to be title contenders.
The Italian manager hinted that his ambition goes much beyond qualifying for European competitions and still needs time to assess the ambitions of the club going forward.
“I repeat: don’t forget I like to have ambition, not only to fight for a place in Champions League or a place in the [Europa] League. Honestly, I want to fight for much more. For much more. I think also I deserve to do this. It will be very important to understand how much time we need to fight for something important [and] if we have the patience to wait because for sure this is a process.”
Antonio not ‘Conte-nt’ with Spurs?
The former Chelsea manager has been pretty straightforward with his comments and statements in the past. He isn’t one to sell fake dreams and his resume across different competitions in Europe is a perfect testimony to his character.
The Lilywhites have seemed like a dominating force ever since the arrival of the ex-Juventus man, but there is still a long way to go at Hotspur Way. The club has struggled to maintain its stature in England as well as Europe ever since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.
A staggering turnover of managers and a questionable transfer policy have seen our Premier league rivals leapfrog us in the past few years. We are currently two points behind bitter rivals Arsenal as we fight for a fourth-place finish in the PL.
Spurs seemed to be down and out during the first half of the season, and Conte’s side has accumulated the third-most points in England’s top flight ever since his arrival at N-17, behind only Manchester City and Liverpool.
It will be interesting to see how the hierarchy handles the situation and whether or not Antonio Conte is backed in the summer transfer window. The Italian has previously won the Premier League title as well as the FA Cup with the Blues and we hope that he can recreate some of that magic with the North Londoners.

Spurs have to understand what they have in their hands right now. This is a man who came in at Chelsea, implemented his tactics, and won them the PL title in his first season there. We may not be able to bring in a manager of his quality who possesses such a winning mentality because they are hard to find in this market.
If the board has ambitions for this club, backing Conte is the way to go for sure. The fans understand the Italian’s pedigree and would really want to see the club perform well in the transfer market. With the right tools, Conte can make magic happen at this club.
