Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur linked with Napoli star Victor Osimhen
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are linked with a move for the signature of Napoli star Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window. He has raised his game to reach newer heights this season, having become a deadly striker based on his recent performances.
Antonio Conte seemingly wants to make some attacking signings this summer to support Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min for the next season. The boss has already demanded from Tottenham that they must buy Dejan Kulusevski permanently, which would cost them around £30million in transfer fees.
However, Conte also has more plans as he wants another attacking reinforcement as part of his project moving forward. Osimhen has been linked with a potential move to join Spurs as a result, although it remains to be seen whether the Italian side or the striker would entertain any proposals.
Spurs to sign Osimhen?
Osimhen has once again been in fine form this term, building on his excellent displays from the previous campaign. The Nigerian has been on an upward trajectory since leaving Lille to move to Italy back in 2020. He would be a useful addition to Conte’s squad if a move can be finalised in the future.
Osimhen has scored 17 goals and assisted six times this season from 29 appearances across all competitions. That is a great return for someone whose campaign has been dealt a blow through a major injury. Despite that, he has been a major catalyst in helping the Serie A side compete for the Scudetto this term.
We could use some backups in the frontline, especially considering how Kane has no natural options to replace him in our team. That is a baffling sight indeed, which is something that should not have happened at a top club. As a result, we saw the likes of Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn deputising in that position at times.
We cannot afford to go another full season with just Kane in our ranks as a centre-forward, so Osimhen would be a smart solution to that situation. What’s more, the latter would also offer the Tottenham boss the option to pair him alongside the England captain in a two-man attacking front when needed.

Perhaps Conte could look to replicate what he did with Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku at Inter Milan using Kane and Osimhen. However, it is still early stages when it comes to potentially signing the Nigerian star.
At 23, he is young and can only get better. If signed, he can even be Kane’s successor if and when he leaves the club. But then again, signing top-quality players is easier said than done.
