Tottenham Hotspur fear being outbid in the transfer race for RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol
According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur are fearful about being outbid in the race to sign RB Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol ahead of this summer. He has earned quite a name for himself, having become a crucial player for club and country in a short matter of time.
Spurs are very much interested in finalising a summer move for Gvardiol ahead of the 2022/23 season. They have added him to their radar as a result, but signing him would not be an easy task since he is one of the most sought after defensive prospects in world football.
Chelsea have also been linked with the Croatian international, indicating the challenge that awaits Spurs. The latter is believed to be concerned that they could be outbid by other interested parties in this transfer race. Moreover, there are also fears about being priced out by Leipzig if they make things difficult during negotiations.
Transfer concerns for Spurs?
The 20-year-old has shown huge potential at a young age, and he could become one of the future superstars under the right guidance. He could arguably be a perfect addition for the centre-back role at the Lane this summer.
Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies are the only reliable options in our squad at this instant. Japhet Tanganga could be useful as a squad player, but that is still not enough considering how Antonio Conte employs a three-at-the-back formation.
Injuries or suspensions to one of the trio could be detrimental, especially when we would battle it out on multiple fronts from the next campaign onwards. Hence, Gvardiol should be considered a priority case, and we must do our best to add him to our ranks for the next term.
The Blues being linked does raise concerns, especially when the North Londoners are not confident about winning the pursuit ad it is. That does not bode well for us in our efforts to actively back Antonio Conte in the transfer window.

The Italian boss wants to sign a first-choice central defender, which means that he must be given the tools to bring in success this summer. Moreover, he has already been promised that the transfer budget would not be an issue making it even more necessary why we must put pressure to complete a deal.
Gvardiol, who is only starting to make a case for himself, has all the qualities to become a top-notch defender moving forward. Hence, spending big for his services would not be a mistake as he has ample time to repay that fee in the future.
