Antonio Conte has urged Tottenham to play their best game against Burnley
Speaking to Spurs TV as quoted by the official Tottenham Hotspur website ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Burnley, manager Antonio Conte has outlined the importance of the match and urged his players to be at their best.
Spurs find themselves embroiled in a fight for the top four spot along with Arsenal and find themselves one point behind their North London rivals in their pursuit for a Champions League spot.
Despite beating Arsenal 3-0 in midweek, Spurs still don’t have their fate in their own hands and will be depending on the Gunners to drop points to take advantage and make sure they secure the top-4 spot.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game, Conte has urged his team to be on top of their game and remember the magnitude of the stakes involved in the next two games.
“It will be very important to get three points because we have only one way of trying to take a place in the Champions League and to put pressure onto Arsenal, because they have one point more.”
The Italian coach also urged the fans to step up and help the team in the upcoming games. Given what is at stake, we need all the help we can get.
“For this reason, I ask our fans on Sunday to be with us from the start until the end and to help us, because they can play an important part in these final games of the season.”
Who do Tottenham play?
With two games left in the Premier League season, Tottenham have everything to play for and will have to be at their best whilst also hoping that Arsenal slips up.
On paper, we have two fairly comfortable fixtures in Burnley and Norwich City, two sides embroiled in relegation and it will be a huge shock if Conte’s team fail to take six points from these two games.
Arsenal meanwhile faces Newcastle United and Everton and Spurs will be banking on either team to do them a favour by managing to take points off Mikel Arteta’s side.
The Italian manager has done a great job with Spurs since taking over from Nuno midseason to bring them to a position where they can fight for Champions League football. The next two games are arguably the most important games of the season.
