Tottenham loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers not thinking about his future at Celtic
Speaking to Sky Sports (via Football Scotland) as quoted by Football London, Tottenham loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers was coy when asked about his future with the newly crowned Scottish champions Celtic.
The American centre-back who is on the books of the Premier League club has been plying his trade in Scotland after being loaned out to Celtic at the start of the season. The Scottish behemoths have just been crowned Champions of the Premiership.
The 24-year-old defender has impressed on loan at Celtic becoming a mainstay in defense and helping the club to a Championship title. He has played over 46 times for the club across all competitions.
Speaking about his future at the club, Carter-Vickers admitted that he is currently not thinking about his future and just concentrating on the moment.
“I’m just enjoying today at the moment. We’ll see”
A chance at Spurs?
Football London claims that Celtic have a buy option to make the American’s loan move permanent but it is not yet clear as to whether Tottenham want to part ways with the defender.
It is impossible to see the talented 24-year-old have a future at White Hart Lane, especially considering the options the club possesses at centre-back. While there is no doubting the US international’s quality, it will have to be put to use elsewhere.
If Celtic indeed decide to trigger their buy option for the defender, then Spurs may decide to part ways with him. However, if that is not the case, then there is little doubt that Carter-Vickers will not be short of any suitors.
Unless Antonio Conte has something up his sleeve to keep Carter-Vickers at the club, it seems almost impossible to imagine that the player will continue at the N-17. A talented player, we can hopefully bring in a decent transfer fee that can be reinvested elsewhere.
