Harry Kane has high hopes from Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur
According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is keen to stay put at the club and extend his contract.
The English skipper was heavily linked with a move away from the club last summer, Manchester City were touted as a potential destination and Kane’s time in North London looked numbered. In the end, Spurs dug in their heels and he stayed put.
It proved to be the right decision as Tottenham finished fourth, qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League. New boss Antonio Conte, who replaced Nuno Espirito Santo midway through the campaign deserves credit for this achievement.
The Italian is one of the finest tacticians in world football and has made a telling difference at the N-17. Kane for one is sold on Conte’s prowess as a manager and has nothing but praise for him.
“Antonio is a really good manager and I’m really enjoying working with him.”
At 28, Kane is in the prime of his career but is yet to win any honours at the club level. Time is running out for him to do so and Tottenham must provide their talisman with the opportunity to chase success.
The striker hints that Conte’s had success wherever he has managed and can repeat the trick at Spurs. There is still a long way to go but we hope Kane is proved a prophet. Securing silverware will certainly cement Conte’s name in club folklore.
“He’s won everywhere he’s gone, so you respect him a lot, and I’m just enjoying it. I’ve worked with some great managers and he’s another one. I feel like my game’s improving under him. Hopefully, it continues.’
