Nottingham Forest identify Tottenham Hotspur star Joe Rodon as a transfer target
According to Alasdair Gold of football.london via his YouTube channel (h/t NottinghamshireLive), Nottingham Forest have identified Tottenham Hotspur star Joe Rodon as a potential target for the summer transfer window. He has been cast aside by Antonio Conte for a long period which has seen his future get surrounded by uncertain waters as of now.
Forest appears to have made centre-back one of their priority positions this summer. They lack options in the central defensive role in their senior team, which has seen them now get linked with a move for Rodon. It is claimed that they “certainly” have an interest in securing his services ahead of the next season.
Steve Cooper had managed the Wales international during their time together at Swansea City. Now both of them could reunite at City Ground if an agreement can be reached with Tottenham regarding a potential move. It is stated that the defender is eager to leave N17 this summer after seeing his minutes diminish under Conte.
More ways for Spurs to earn money!
It is quite unfortunate to see how Rodon’s time with Spurs has turned out to be since his £11million move back in 2020. After all, he has never put a foot wrong for us, even though his performances have not been very promising in the backline. He has always been consistent for us, even when Conte brought him back to the mix at the tail end of the last campaign.
Hence, it is difficult to understand why Rodon has been cast aside, but we must look ahead and find a suitable solution for all the parties. Hence, selling the 24-year-old would be in our best interests which would also align with what the centre-half wants ahead of the next term.
The Reds have achieved promotion to the Premier League after a long time, which means that they would be desperate for reinforcements this summer. That is especially the case when they could use some centre-backs in their ranks, in particular, to prepare for the raised challenge moving forward.

One could say that the Welshman was dead last in the pecking order, with the likes of Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez being ahead of him despite their struggles. Even Ben Davies, who is not a natural central defender, has been preferred by Conte since he took over the reins back in November.
Recouping what we paid for Rodon would definitely be a tough task indeed, but let’s hope that Fabio Paratici can negotiate a good deal for us. Perhaps Paratici could convince Cooper’s side to accept certain add-ons that would nearly guarantee us a solid cash windfall similar to what we did with Dele Alli.
