Tottenham Hotspur to hold talks with Torino this week over Gleison Bremer transfer
According to the Italian publication Tuttosport (h/t The Express), Tottenham Hotspur are set to hold talks with Torino this week regarding a potential transfer for Gleison Bremer. He has emerged to become one of the best in the business following his excellent performances in Serie A last season.
After signing Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic, Tottenham are looking to focus their efforts on reinforcing their central defensive position this summer. Antonio Conte had prioritised adding to his options for that role long before the transfer window had even opened. Bremer has been identified as a potential target as a result, with a meeting set to take place “this week”.
Spurs will hold discussions with Torino sporting director Davide Vagnatti in London about a potential move for Bremer. The latter is currently valued at £25million, which seems to be a steal for someone who was named the Best Defender in Serie A in the previous campaign.
Bremer, another Spurs signing?
It is in our best interests if we ramp up the process in our pursuit to secure Bremer’s services in the summer transfer window. After all, integrating him into the team as soon as possible would be helpful, especially with the pre-season nearing close with each passing day.
Furthermore, the Brazilian has attracted attention from a host of clubs across Europe which could be problematic if those interested parties actively target him this summer. Fabio Paratici is stated to be eager to add Bremer to the squad, which gives the English side all the more reason to finalise a move soon.
Fortunately, it seems that the North Londoners have plans for that as they are set to discuss Bremer’s availability and whether he can be convinced about a Premier League switch. Reaching an agreement with the 25-year-old could be an issue, with him preferring a move to Inter Milan as of now.
Then again, perhaps we can change the South American’s mind by pointing out how he could earn more minutes should he move to N17. Inter, for example, have the likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar in their ranks, and the starting spot is not always guaranteed as a result.

Joining Conte’s side, meanwhile, could earn Bremer more chances of becoming a regular starter looking at our options. After all, Ben Davies, who is not even a natural centre-half, played a major part in the three-at-the-back system indicating how the Serie A ace could have a shot at the spot.
It will be interesting to see how the meeting will turn out to be when it takes place in the coming days. Bremer’s valuation is quite reasonable for a man of his talents, so the fans would hope that Daniel Levy and co can finalise a move in their attempt to support Conte with transfer signings.
