Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed the fixture list for their 2022/23 Premier League campaign on their club website. Fan reaction to the same has been mostly positive, few of them overwhelmingly so.

The 22/23 Premier League season is going to be unprecedented in the sense that England’s top division doesn’t practice a winter break, but the upcoming World Cup in Qatar later this year will be splitting the campaign into two-halves

Spurs will open their season by welcoming Southampton to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on August 6, which will be followed by a trip across the city to take on London arch-rivals and Antonio Conte’s former club Chelsea on August 13. The Blues will be making the return trip on February 25.

Speaking of derbies, let’s address the elephant in the room. The two legs of the North London derby against Arsenal are scheduled for October 1 and January 14. Spurs will be making the trip to the Emirates Stadium first, before the Gunners return to hostile territory shortly after the turn of the year.

Manchester United awaits on October 19 at Old Trafford, while the Red Devils are set to travel to Spurs on April 25. United’s arch-rivals and defending champions Manchester City will be making the trip to North London first on September 10, before the Lilywhites return to the Etihad on February 4.

Tottenham will host Liverpool on November 5, while the Reds will be returning the favour on April 29 – right at the business end. If Spurs can sustain a title challenge till that point, that match could very well be a title-decider.

Spurs have had a very productive transfer window so far, having already confirmed the first-team arrivals of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster. More names are expected to follow in a big summer of change at Hotspur Way, which has led to renewed optimism amongst the Spurs faithful.

Reacting to the club’s released fixtures on Twitter, fans remain hopeful of a great season and a potential challenge for the title.
