Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham are still in the running for Leeds United forward Raphinha
Tottenham are one of the clubs still interested in Leeds United forward Raphinha. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are still working on the deal for the Brazilian, but no new bid has been submitted to the Whites.
The Elland Road club have set an asking price of £65million for their 25-year-old star man. Romano also stated that next week could be crucial in this transfer saga.
Barcelona and London-based Chelsea and Arsenal are the other clubs looking to entice Raphinha from Leeds, who has attracted a lot of interest due to his impressive spell at Elland Road.
A top signing
If Spurs are able to get the Brazilian’s signing over the line it would be a major coup and could catapult the club to be one of the clubs challenging for the title next season.
With a manager like Antonio Conte at the helm and Champions League football next season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 25-year-old opt for a move to the North London club.
With the attacking threat Spurs possess, the addition of Raphinha would only make it more potent if he were to sign. There is no doubt about his dribbling abilities down the flank and under Conte, he can only fine-tune his skills to become of the very best attackers in England.
Son Heung-min and Harry Kane are already a threat to any opposition in front of goal. The pair helped Tottenham secure the fourth spot last season and both of them will be hungry to challenge for titles in the upcoming season.
The Brazil national’s quality shone through last season as he helped his struggling side avoid relegation. Being teamed up with the likes of Kane, Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Ivan Perisic will only help him get even better.

However, it will be interesting to see how much game time Conte can spare the 25-year-old as Kulusevski has shown the Italian manager that he is trustworthy and Perisic will also be fighting for a place in the team.
