Harry Winks on his way out to Everton?

Transfer News: Everton and Tottenham Hotspur having difficulty completing Harry Winks and Richarlison deals

According to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown on GiveMeSport (h/t Liverpool Echo), Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have hit a roadblock with deals regarding Harry Winks and Richarlison.

Liverpool Echo claims that the Merseyside outfit wants a loan deal with an option to buy for Winks, but Spurs are interested in a permanent transfer. Meanwhile, Spurs also want to include Winks in a potential deal for Everton forward Richarlison.

Such a difference of opinion has the two sides coming to an impasse. Both sides want to come out profitable from the deal and this is now looking unlikely.

“From Spurs’ point of view and it would make it a lot cheaper if they could try and package that all together, but as far as I understand, Everton want it kept totally separate and that might be a stumbling block at the moment.”

Tottenham hoped to include Winks in the Richarlison deal to bring down the asking price of £50million. Everton, meanwhile, want to keep both deals separate.

One side to give in?

Antonio Conte has been revamping the squad this summer. He has already signed Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster. Conte would love to have Richarlison, as he would add depth to their attack and also increase competition among the squad.

Frank Lampard’s Everton managed to avoid relegation last season and they would not want to be in that battle again. Midfield was a problem last season and Lampard is looking to strengthen his options in the middle of the park. Winks has been identified as a possible solution to the problem.

But with both clubs trying to come out profitable from this situation, it is looking likely that now one club will have to give in. Which club will it be is difficult to say but hopefully there isn’t a situation where we cannot get any of the two deals across the line.

It makes sense for both clubs to pursue their way. Everton wants to assess Winks’ time at Merseyside first and then decide, while Spurs hope to bring down the asking price for Richarlison.

Which of the two clubs comes out on top remains to be seen. In all honesty, Spurs would be wise to make a little compromise here as we are the ones arguably profiting more from these two deals.

Conte hasn’t used Winks a lot especially since Rodrigo Bentancur’s arrival, while Richarlison would be a fine addition for us. The Toffees, meanwhile, would be losing arguably their best and most versatile attacker.
