Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur could show interest in RB Leipzig star Nordi Mukiele
According to Manchester Evening News, Tottenham Hotspur could decide to register their interest in signing RB Leipzig star Nordi Mukiele this summer transfer window. He is on the back of a great season for his side in Germany, which has seen him earn rave reviews in that period.
Tottenham are searching the market to add more competition to the right wing-back position at this moment. As such, it would certainly be understandable if they would actively pursue Mukiele to bolster their ranks ahead of the upcoming campaign.
That being said, Spurs would need to keep an eye out for Manchester United if they hope to target the Frenchman moving forward. The Red Devils are also looking to sign a right-back as well and have been linked with a move for Mukiele for that very reason.
Spurs to target Mukiele?
It is pretty well known at this point how we have been pursuing Middlesbrough ace Djed Spence for quite some time. However, we are currently hesitant to meet Boro’s asking price of £15million plus add-ons which could force our hands to look at other targets should they remain adamant on their stance.
Mukiele will undoubtedly be a great alternative if his performances in the previous season are anything to go by. He was arguably one of the best right-backs in the Bundesliga during that period and is also flexible enough to play as a right wing-back, central defender and a left-back as well.
The 24-year-old earned quite a name for himself for his impact on both phases of the game, which makes him a great option for Antonio Conte. After all, Achraf Hakimi rose to the top of the food chain with those same qualities under Conte when they were at Inter Milan.
Hence, it would not be wise to bet against Conte to do the same with Mukiele should we sign him. The wing-back’s two goals and five assists from 36 matches last season across all competitions should indicate the potential he has in the attacking phase.
The Red Devils are willing to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, giving them all the more reason to chase after Mukiele. Hence, we must take an early decision on our potential attempt to sign the latter in this transfer window.

Serge Aurier was sold last year to Villarreal after that transfer didn’t work out with us, while Emerson Royal has failed to impress. Conte shouldn’t compromise and go all out for signing the full-back he needs.
After all, most people would know how important those two positions are in his tactical system.
