Steve Nicol labels Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane joining Bayern Munich a ‘no-brainer’
Steve Nicol believes that it is a no-brainer for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane to join Bayern Munich if Conte were to leave Spurs at the end of the upcoming season.
The Liverpool legend feels the North London side’s ace goalscorer will have a call to make in the event the Italian leaves and the Bundesliga champions come calling. One of the continent’s top teams. Bayern are miles ahead of us in the European pecking order at this moment in time.
Kane has been at the club since 2009 and has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world over the years. Nicol, speaking on ESPN (h/t Express), feels leaving Tottenham is an easy decision.
“If Conte decides to leave at the end of the season then if you are Harry Kane it is a no-brainer to go to Bayern Munich.”
The Spurs vice-captain had a career on the periphery before breaking onto the world footballing stage as a reliable goalscorer. After multiple loans to different sides in lower leagues, Kane finally got a run in the team at the end of the 2013/14 season.
In the 2014/15 season, Kane set the world alight, scoring 21 goals in the Premier League. Since then, the England international has only gotten better and is today among the best players in world football.
What has eluded the striker in North London have been trophies. Tottenham have had a barren spell for 14 years now in terms of silverware. The same cannot be said of Bayern, for whom a trophyless season is something unthinkable.
“Why not [for Harry Kane]? Guaranteed you win the Bundesliga, win a title.”
Fans might feel it’s this aspiration that might tilt our vice-captain’s head a bit. The 28-year-old looked set to leave Spurs last summer with Manchester City lurking. But Spurs managed to keep a hold of their superstar.
It seemed as if Kane had lost his desire to play for us at the beginning of the season. But the arrival of Antonio Conte has rejuvenated the England international’s spirits. And we look set to achieve something special in the upcoming campaign.

It’ll be extremely difficult for the North London side if they lose Kane. Not just in terms of goals, the striker has also become one of the best playmakers for us. His partnership with other players on the pitch is irreplaceable.
