Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus wants to fight for the Golden Boot with Tottenham newboy Richarlison

Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus are two of Brazil’s most talented strikers of this generation. And the duo sealed a move to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal respectively during this window.

Jesus joined the Gunners after failing to become a regular at Manchester City even after Sergio Aguero’s arrival. Richarlison, meanwhile, left Everton for Spurs after helping them avoid relegation last season.

The rivalry between the two north London clubs is well known. But given the fact that they train together for the Selecao, Jesus’ recent comments about the new Spurs signing don’t come as a surprise.

Richarlison backed to compete for the PL Golden Boot by Gabriel Jesus.

Speaking in an interview as quoted by the Mirror, the former Palmeiras man stated that he wants to be fighting for the Premier League Golden Boot with Richarlison next season.

“I hope that we can both end the season fighting for the Golden Boot because I like him. He’s a very good guy, amazing player, so I wish him all the best but not against us!”

The two clubs would be hoping that is the case. Arsenal splashed £45million on Jesus after losing Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this year.

Spurs, meanwhile, spent £60million to bring the ex-Watford striker to N17. Mohamed Salah of Liverpool won the PL Golden Boot last season alongside Son Heung-min of Tottenham.

Erling Haaland has also joined Manchester City while Darwin Nunez has made the move to Anfield. Chelsea, meanwhile, have signed Raheem Sterling themselves despite seeing Romelu Lukaku leave for Inter Milan on loan

Then, there’s Harry Kane. The English striker is one of the best in the business when it comes to scoring goals and would hope to win the award again.

Hence, it isn’t going to be easy to be the top goal-scorer in the league next season but if the two Brazilians keep fit, there is every chance they are in the running for it come gameweek 38.
