Tottenham Hotspur given all clear to complete Lucas Paqueta transfer
According to FootballFanCast (h/t the Mirror), Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost in their pursuit of Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta.
The 24-year-old can play in a variety of midfield and forward positions. He is capable of playing as a No. 10, right-wing, or even across a front three if necessary.
Spurs coach Antonio Conte will undoubtedly be pleased with a player profile with this dynamic. Paqueta fits the criteria appropriately since the Italian manager likes players that put in a tonne of work.
Spurs aren’t the only elite club with an interest in the Brazilian; Manchester City and PSG are also keeping tabs on the star of Lyon.
Now it is believed that Tottenham Hotspur have got a green light in their pursuit to sign the Brazilian because of the current development in his price.
The Ligue 1 team is believed to have set a £55 million asking price for his services, which would have matched the Lilywhites’ club record. However, some reports claim that the price has since been cut to roughly £34 million.
It would make sense for sports director Fabio Paratici to make a move for the Lyon star now that they have received a significant boost because he could offer that dimension to Antonio Conte’s engine room.
Paqueta contributed to 18 goals across 43 games in all competitions. The Brazilian is talented enough to assist and score goals while also being able to aid out when his team loses possession of the ball. Overall, he comes off as an absolutely devastating menace in the last third.
