The agent of Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga set to travel to Milan
According to Sky Sports’ reporter Gianluca Di Marzio (Football.London), the agent of Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga will travel to Milan this week amid the uncertainty surrounding his client’s Spurs future.
The 23-year-old made his debut in the 2019–20 season and has already displayed some talent. The defender’s versatility, which allows him to play either wide or in the middle of the defence, is a strength.
But injuries have cast a shadow over Tanganga’s progress with the team. Every time the 23-year-old is having a successful stretch with the squad, he tends to get an injury. The academy alumnus has had bad luck in that area.
Tanganga had a mixed year last year, appearing in 19 games. Under Nuno Espirito Santo, he was in and out of the team, but under Antonio Conte, nothing changed.
Now it seems he could exit the team in the ongoing summer window. His agent is set to be in Milan this week.
Even though the purpose of his travel is not known considering the Englishman has been a transfer target of the Rossoneri, it’s not hard to imagine the entourage meeting with the Italian club’s representatives to discuss a possible deal.
A back three is the preference of our new manager. Conte has put Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, and Davinson Sanchez ahead of the versatile defender.
Even though the 23-year-old occasionally made the Italian manager’s team, his season was cut short by an injury in January. A transfer away feels like an opportunity to receive regular playing time given the fight for spots.

At the young age of 22, Tanganga has a long future ahead of him. Spurs may regret selling him for such a low price in the long run. Right now, a loan transfer seems ideal. Tottenham may profit later if the defender is able to regain his form.
Or even better, we would have a capable defender on hand for the future. Tottenham somehow managed to play a potent team with the aid of Romero after Toby Alderweireld left us last summer. We need a young player like Tanganga to rise through the ranks and claim the centre-back spot for himself.
