Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga attracting interest from Celtic, AS Monaco, AC Milan and Bournemouth
Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. It is now claimed that three new clubs have entered the fray for his services.
According to Milan News (h/t the Express), Celtic, AS Monaco, and Bournemouth have entered the fray for his services. I Rossoneri have been heavily linked with the English defender but it seems they now have competition to fend off.
The Cherries have won promotion to the Premier League this summer and it is understandable why they would want Tanganga. The 23-year-old has enjoyed several seasons in the PL already and is a versatile defender.
He can play as a centre-back as well as a right-back, which bodes well for a team like Bournemouth if they want to strengthen their backline. Monaco and Celtic aren’t bad options either and he could become a first-team regular at both clubs.
Tanganga a man in demand
Milan, on the other hand, are perhaps the biggest club on the list. The four-time UEFA Champions League/European Cup champions and the current Serie A title winners are back at the pinnacle of Italian football.
However, with the likes of Fikayo Tomori, Mattia Caldara, Simon Kjaer, Matteo Gabbia, and Pierre Kalulu, Tanganga could find it hard to garner regular minutes. They also have Alessandro Florenzi and David Calabria as their right-backs.
Then again, it is naive to think that a player of Tanganga’s capabilities cannot compete with those names for starts. A move to San Siro would certainly be a big challenge, but at his age, he can hardly afford to wait around any longer.
The Italian side are seriously interested in Tanganga and while a deal hasn’t been struck yet, this is a deal that can happen this summer.

Antonio Conte perhaps sees Tanganga as expendable but it wouldn’t be a shabby scenario if we somehow end up keeping him this summer.
