Min-Jae Kim wants to move to Tottenham Hotspur over Everton

According to Calciomercato (h/t Football.London), Fenerbahce defender Min-Jae Kim who has been likened to Virgil van Dijk wants to move to Tottenham Hotspur.

After stints in South Korea and China, Min-Jae signed with Fenerbahce prior to the 2021/22 season. Since then, the defender has displayed all the traits necessary to become a top player.

The centre-back appeared 39 times for the Turkish team last season, including seven Europa League games. Min-Jae is Son Heung-Min’s international teammate and they both play important roles for the South Korean national team.

Fenerbahce might have to sell defender Min-Jae Kim this summer, against the will of their head coach Jorge Jesus as the South Korean has expressed his desire to leave this summer. He has a release clause of £19million which might intrigue our Italian manager to pursue him.

It is now believed that the South Korean wishes to move to Tottenham Hotspur which could enable him to play alongside Heung-min Son at Spurs. The 25-year-old, who has been compared to Virgil van Dijk, would disappoint Everton, who are also interested in him.

Given that Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga have both been linked with summer exits, it makes sense that Conte would want to bring in another player in addition to Lenglet to provide himself with some squad depth at the defence.

Conte would have five centre-back choices for three positions if Tanganga and Rodon left. Therefore, rather than bringing in a high-priced player, if we do add another centre-back, it will probably be a pretty inexpensive choice. Kim might therefore be just what Tottenham is searching for.

He and Son Heung-Min were teammates on South Korea’s national team, so it’s possible that the fact that he is a fellow countryman is what motivates him to join. This could play a significant role in the ace’s decision to make this transfer.
