Marseille show interest in Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele
According to journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke (h/t Football.London), Ligue 1 club Marseille have shown an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele.
Ndombele has fallen out of favour at Tottenham and has struggled to impose himself on multiple managers at N-17. The Frenchman struggled to adjust to life in London after moving there in a deal that set a club record in 2019.
Ndombele showed signs of his previous form after joining Olympique Lyon on loan from Tottenham in January due to a lack of playing time in North London. The Ligue 1 team, however, decided against making a long-term commitment because of his high wage. The French international, who is now back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, could be on the move soon.
Ndombele was excluded from Tottenham’s preseason tour implying that he must sort out his future. Previously, a move to AC Milan was suggested as a possibility. Now, Marseille of France also appears to be interested in the Frenchman.
Spurs understandably want to get him off the books this summer, but it might not be as simple as they think. Right now, there isn’t a lot of demand for Ndombele. Although Marseille has expressed interest, the Ligue 1 team lacks the funds required to consummate a transaction.
Ndombele is currently in a terrible situation. The Frenchman is completely stuck in transfer limbo. Although he has no future at Tottenham, his salary is too high for any other team to consider making a move for him.
He could undoubtedly leave for a cheaper salary, but let’s be honest—who in their right mind would reject the terms he currently has with Tottenham?

Spurs might possibly get him off their books by arranging a loan deal but selling him outright might prove to be the best way forward. Ndombele’s time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium appears to be drawing to a close and it remains to be seen if he has played his last game in white.
