Antonio Conte frustrated by Julien Nagelsmann’s comments on Harry Kane
Speaking in an interview as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Antonio Conte was extremely frustrated by Bayern Munich manager Julien Nagelsmann’s comments on Tottenham star Harry Kane.
Antonio Conte went as far as calling the Bayern manager’s comments ‘disrespectful’. The Bundesliga club have been talking about Harry Kane a lot in recent times and the Italian manager isn’t too fascinated by that.
Bayern are said to be huge fans of the English striker and consider him an option for the future. The German club have just sold Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona and could need a replacement for the Polish target man.
Speaking about the Tottenham superstar, Nagelsmann admitted that Kane could be an option for the future.
“He is very expensive. He is strong with the ball, strong body – but at that price it is really difficult. We will have to see what happens in the future…”
Kane has a contract with the Premier League club until 2024. It is no secret that Tottenham adore the Englishman and will want to keep him at the club for many years via a new contract.
The 28-year-old came very close to leaving the Lilywhites last summer and was pushing for a move to Manchester City. The club, however, refused to sell him and the Englishman had to stay here.
Things have changed considerably now though with Tottenham building a very impressive team under Antonio Conte and also securing Champions League football for the current season.
The Italian manager hit out at Nagelsmann for commenting on Harry Kane and insisted that he would not talk about a player belonging to another club.
“I’d never speak about players of other teams. I don’t know why Nagelsmann did that – I think it’s maybe bit disrespectful”
Conte is not wrong. It is not a secure feeling when another club talks about our player, especially someone of Harry Kane’s quality. Bayern might be interested in the player but talking about him is something that could be avoided.
