Fabio Paratici was in Italy to negotiate Sampdoria loan move for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Bryan Gil
According to SampNews24 (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur forward Bryan Gil may be about to switch clubs once again this season with a loan move to Sampdoria being touted.
Fabio Paratici’s recent trip to Italy supposedly included negotiations with the Italian side for a possible loan move for the young Spaniard. But the Serie A side are unwilling to pay the £2 million loan fee being demanded for the 21-year-old.
A permanent transfer is highly unlikely, considering the potential Gil possesses. And Sampdoria are expected to make a counter ‘in the next few hours’ for Tottenham’s young forward.
Antonio Conte has kept Gil in and around his pre-season squad, giving him the opportunity to play. But it seems the Italian wants the youngster to develop his game further.
Regular first-team action difficult for Gil at Spurs
At Tottenham, getting into Conte’s XI might prove to be a hard task for the Spaniard. We have some quality options up front, especially for the wings.
Firstly, Son Heung-min is one of the crown jewels of our attack. The South Korean has been a guaranteed starter for some time now and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
Then there’s January signing Dejan Kulusevski, who’s taken to English football’s first tier like fish to water. The Swedish national has performed above expectations for Spurs.
New signing Richarlison is also capable of playing out on the wings in the forward position alongside Ivan Perisic. Lucas Moura is also still at the club and a decent option for Conte to have.

A move to a club of Sampdoria’s stature will prove to be a good move for Gil if he gets the appropriate care and first-team action. The Blucerchiati are a stable Serie A team with an Italian footballing pedigree and a summer switch could prove to be the right move.
