Transfer News: Troy Parrott set to sign new Tottenham Hotspur contract
According to Alasdair Gold of Football.London, Troy Parrott is expected to seal a season-long loan deal this summer and sign a new contract at the club.
The 20-year-old striker has come through Spurs’ academy and has shown promising signs that he could one day be a regular fixture in the senior side. He has already spent time at three clubs on loan in his professional career.
Millwall, Ipswich Town and most recently, MK Dons, have all signed the Irish striker on temporary deals in the past. He is attracting interest this summer as well, with Preston North End keen on bringing him back to the Championship.
Swansea, Middlesbrough, and QPR are also keen on signing the youngster. It seems likely that he will depart on loan this summer after signing a new deal at N17.
Smart move by Spurs
His current contract expires in 2023. It is wise on the club’s part to tie him down to a new contract because he could be a viable option for the future.
A space opened up in Spurs’ squad this summer as they looked for someone to compete with or partner Harry Kane in attack. Antonio Conte went out and got in Richarlison instead.
The former Everton star can play as a winger but primarily played as a centre-forward during his time on Merseyside. Kane can’t keep playing on forever and there will come a time when Spurs would want a new striker – whenever that may be.

It is on Parrott to keep putting in the hard work and step up when he gets the chance. He currently has just four senior appearances for Spurs but he would be desperate to increase that number in the near future.
