Giovanni van Bronckhorst showers praise on Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-min after Rangers friendly
Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst praised Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-min after Antonio Conte’s men ran out 2-1 winners this weekend.
Spurs took on the Scottish side in a pre-season friendly at Ibrox and things are bound to be intense given these are the last couple of weeks before the season begins. Antonio Colak’s goal put Rangers ahead after 24 minutes.
But a Harry Kane special meant Spurs ended the game with a win. The English striker scored in the 50th and 56th minutes of the game, with both goals being assisted by Son.
After the game, Van Bronckhorst labelled Kane and Son as one of the very best forwards in world football (h/t Football.London).
“Kane and Son? They are like in the top five, top six strikers in the world. Not only in attack, but in transition moments with the speed that they have. I think we cope really well in moments in the game, but at moments you also see their quality. Especially in the second half.”
Both the forwards were lauded by the home fans as well, and according to the Dutch icon, this show of appreciation was much deserved.
“You see the appreciation of the Rangers fans because they see the quality that they have and they applauded them as well.”
There is no doubt that both Son and Kane continue to be Tottenham’s main men up front- be it under Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, or Antonio Conte.
Even after Richarlison’s signing, there is no way the Italian replaces either of them with the Brazilian in the starting XI. It is just impossible to imagine that scenario- not unless there is an injury.
