Troy Parrott renews Tottenham Hotspur contract until 2025 and joins Preston North End on loan
As confirmed by the official club website, Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott has joined Preston North End on loan after renewing his contract.
The 20-year-old striker was on loan at MK Dons last season where he scored 10 goals and helped them finish third in League One. Unfortunately, his team lost to Wycombe Wanderers in the semi-final.
His deal was set to expire next summer but he has now put pen to paper on a new contract that runs until 2025. Parrott would hope to convince Antonio Conte that he is ready for the step up to first-team football when he returns to N17 next year.
A move to Preston is in itself an upgrade for Parrott, who will be playing in the Championship instead of League One in the coming season. He previously played in the second division of English football during his loan spell at Millwall.
Wise move by Spurs
Ched Evans, Sean Maguire, and Emil Riis will be the Republic of Ireland international’s competition at Deepdale. It remains to be seen if he is handed regular starts by Ryan Lowe.
But hopefully, both Spurs and Parrott chose this next destination after due deliberation. Parrott would want to follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane.
The English international also graduated from Spurs’ youth academy before making a name for himself under Mauricio Pochettino. Still just 20, Parrott has a long way to go in his career.
