Fabio Paratici enquired about signing Memphis Depay for Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer from Barcelona
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur managing director Fabio Paratici enquired about signing Memphis Depay on a free transfer from Barcelona.
The Dutch forward has been in talks with Juventus. The 28-year-old wants the Blaugrana to terminate his contract and allow him to move for free.
The attempt by Paratici and Tottenham has supposedly caught the former Manchester United forward’s eye, who is seemingly open to a move back to English football. But transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter claims that Spurs haven’t held any tasks for the Dutchman.
Whatever the case may be, it remains to be seen whether the Lilywhites go after another forward. Considering we have an abundance of talent in the forward line, fans aren’t too fussed about more attackers.
Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were two of our best players last season. With Dejan Kulusevski alongside them in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign, the trio helped Tottenham to a top-four finish.
We’ve made other additions to the side with the arrival of Richarlison. Lucas Moura also seems to be someone Antonio Conte has faith in.
The new season’s opening game against Southampton showed that we’ve got back the spirit and belief of being a top side that we had under Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs replied with four goals after going down one in the opening minutes of the match.
Tottenham have made a number of signings under Conte. The club have evidently backed the manager. Hopefully, the Italian is able to bring some sort of success back to the N17. Our next game is against Chelsea in the Premier League. It’s going to reflect our progress.

Depay is a decent player. But Spurs already have a bunch of big names up front. And a starting spot in Conte’s XI is not a guarantee.
