Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero ruled out of action for three-four weeks
In what will come as a blow to Antonio Conte and Tottenham Hotspur, Cristian Romero is set to be on the sidelines for three to four weeks to due to an injury. This has been confirmed by football. london.
Romero was involved in a controversy during the game against Chelsea last weekend. Thomas Tuchel complained that the centre-back had pulled Marc Cucurella’s hair, ahead of Harry Kane’s injury-time equaliser. VAR had a look and deemed the incident to be non-violent much to our benefit.
The 24-year-old Argentine has been a crucial member of Conte’s starting eleven, ever since joining the club on loan in 2021. He has started both the games this season and has been phenomenal at the back in both the matches.
But now he could be set for a spell on the sidelines. The report mentions that the centre-back picked up a muscle injury during the game against Chelsea. He is on route to missing a string of important matches for Spurs in the weeks ahead.
The 24-year-old could potentially be unavailable for selection for the Champions League games next month. He is also likely to miss the crucial game against Manchester City next month.
Romero is no stranger to injury during his time here in London. The Argentian missed the action for three months last season when a serious hamstring injury kept him out between November and February. Conte will hope that this injury is not a repeat of the last.
Davinson Sanchez is likely to deputise during the absence of the Argentine. He did the same last season too and impressed during that spell. The Colombian has the skills to star and could be set to play a pivotal role in the games to come.
