Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Hotspur working to sell Pape Matar Sarr, Harry Winks and Bryan Gil
Tottenham Hotspur are actively working to seal exits for Pape Matar Sarr, Bryan Gil, and Harry Winks this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Midfielders Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele have joined Villarreal and Napoli respectively on season-long loan deals. And it seems that Spurs are done with their outgoings during the summer window.
“After Ndombele and Gio Lo Celso, Tottenham are confident to find a solution on loan for Pape Sarr – as Italian clubs are interested. #THFC Negotiations continue for Bryan Gil [Valencia still insisting] and Harry Winks, Paratici is working on it.”
Valencia are apparently insisting on a deal for 21-year-old Spanish winger, Gil, while Spurs are on the lookout for a club to take Sarr on loan. The Senegal international signed for Spurs last summer but played for FC Metz last season as a part of that deal.
It remains to be seen if Winks and Gil are being considered as players that could be loaned out or sold permanently. It would be wise to keep the former at N17 for a few more years.
He hasn’t really had the chance to prove himself at Spurs after being loaned out to Valencia for the second half of last season. Winks, meanwhile, seems like he is surplus to requirements at the club.
Gil made the bench for Spurs’ 4-1 win against Southampton and the 2-2 draw against Chelsea. He was an unused substitute in both those games while Winks and Sarr were left out completely from the matchday squads.
