Transfer News: Nottingham Forest consider loan move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon
Nottingham Forest are exploring the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon on loan, according to the Daily Mail (h/t NottinghamshireLive).
Villarreal and Lazio have apparently made enquiries about the Spain international but the Tricky Trees are now putting their name in the hat for the 25-year-old. Reguilon is going to have a tough time for regular minutes if he fails to leave N17 by September 1.
Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic are locked in a battle for the starting position down the left-hand side of the pitch. To future-proof that side, Antonio Conte signed Destiny Udogie from Udinese.
The teenage left-back, however, is on loan at the Udinese-based outfit for the current season. Forest were promoted to the PL this summer after an inspiring spell in the Championship.
Reguilon to Forest?
One of their stars last season, Djed Spence, who was loaned in from Middlesbrough, is now at Spurs. Manager Steven Cooper has been highly active during the current transfer window, signing players such as Neco Williams, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Morgan Gibbs-White.
And it seems they are not done strengthening. Reguilon, formerly at Real Madrid, would bring with him a ton of experience and quality – two things Forest need to survive in the Premier League this season.
They signed Omar Richards from Bayern Munich earlier this summer but it is clear that Reguilon, who has plenty of PL experience during his stay at N17, can be a more suitable fit in their starting XI.

Harry Toffolo, signed from Huddersfield Town, can also provide good depth in that area but Reguilon can be assured of playing time if he goes there – otherwise it would certainly be odd to see him swap the benches at Tottenham for those at Forest.
