Spurs Transfer News: Valencia and Tottenham Hotspur to finalise Bryan Gil transfer “this week”
Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia have scheduled a new round of talks this week for securing the immediate future of winger Bryan Gil, according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The two clubs want to finalise a move for the 21-year-old winger in the coming days and are holding talks aimed at meeting that goal. Gil was loaned out to Valencia for the second half of last season, where he ended up making 13 La Liga appearances.
It seems Gennaro Gattuso wants to bring him to Mestalla once again. Gil is on a contract that expires in the summer of 2026 (transfermarkt).
Romano does not clarify in his tweet if the move would be permanent or a temporary one. The latter makes more sense considering Gil is only getting started in his playing career.
Spurs invested a decent amount of money on him and lost Erik Lamela to Sevilla in a cash-plus-player swap deal. Apart from seeing the former AS Roma winger leave for Palanganas Nervionenses, Spurs paid an additional £21.6million in cash.
Gil will not have it easy to find minutes under manager Antonio Conte. He is already finding that out the hard way this season.
He is yet to play a single minute of competitive football this month despite Steven Bergwijn’s departure to Ajax earlier this summer. Fans would agree that Gil needs more experience before being thrown into the starting XI on a regular basis.

Los Che can provide that. Hopefully, the move is a temporary one. The U19 European Champion with Spain deserves more patience from our club.
