David Ginola chooses his favourite goal with Tottenham Hotspur as club records their 1000th PL goal at home
Harry Kane’s thumping header against Wolverhampton Wanderers marked a special value of it being the 1000th home goal for Tottenham Hotspur.
It was the only goal of the game and allowed Antonio Conte’s men to solidify. their position at the top half of the table.
Now, to mark the special stat, the Athletic spoke to former Tottenham winger David Ginola and asked about his favourite goal in a Spurs jersey.
David Ginola played for Tottenham between 1997-2000. He made 121 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals and notching up 18 assists.
Called by Johan Cruyff one of the best players in the world, Ginola had a wonderful time at Spurs and won the PFA Player of the Year in 1999 alongside winning the League cup.
Recalling his time as a Spurs player, Ginola was asked to name his favourite goal scored to which he said:
It would be the one against Watford, where I dribbled past a lot of players and scored from the edge of the penalty area.
Ginola was towards the end of his Spurs career with him being substituted in 12 of his last 23 games and the game against Watford changed the narration.
As he recalls, he exchanged passes with Iversen and cut inside four players, two of them falling as they retreated, before firing a low shot from 16 yards inside the right-hand post.

Surely the goal is up there in the list of one of the best goals seen in a home away and there is no better way to embrace it than breaching the 1000 home goal mark.
