Tottenham are interested in Manchester City youngster Adedire Mebude
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Manchester City youngster Adedire Mebude, according to Nizaar Kinsella of the Evening Standard. Several other clubs in the Premier League are keeping an eye on the 18-year-old.
Mebude is one of the brightest prospects in the U21s league. However, the 18-year-old has reached an impasse with the Sky Blues over a new contract. The Scotland U19 international’s deal with City expires in 2024.
This has led to teams around Europe monitoring Mebude’s situation in Manchester. In England, Southampton and Newcastle are interested, while PSV Eindhoven and Club Brugge are also keen on the youngster.
Mebude is a highly sought-after youngster who mostly plays on the right wing. The 18-year-old is known for being lightning fast and possessing quick feet. The London-born star has started the new season in fine form, being one of the top goalscorers in the U21s league.
Tottenham have an abundance of young attacking talent on their books. Currently, Dane Scarlett is on loan at Portsmouth, while Troy Parrott joined Preston North End on a temporary move.
Spurs’ academy over the years has churned out some brilliant players. Harry Kane is one example. The England international broke into the North London side in 2014 and since then hasn’t looked back.
Kane recently became the player with the highest number of Premier League goals for a single club. His brace against Nottingham Forest took him above City legend Sergio Aguero.
