Tottenham Hotspur welcome back Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur ahead of Fulham clash
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has confirmed that both Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur are available for their game against Fulham this Saturday.
Romero picked up an adductor injury and was forced to sit out the games against Nottingham Forest and West Ham United earlier. Bentancur meanwhile picked up a head injury against Forest and missed the London derby.
But now both are back in training and are available for selection. Speaking to the press ahead of their game, Conte confirmed the double injury boost for his side. (h/t Sports Mole)
Cuti is in the squad, he trained with us after the game against West Ham. Bentancur is OK, he has recovered 100%.
Davinson Sanchez started the last three games in place of Romero. The Colombian international has fallen down the pecking order, but still fights for his place in the team. His good performances will likely get him more minutes ahead in the season.
Bentancur started all four games for Spurs this season, before sitting the last one out. New signing Yves Bissouma started the game in place of the Uruguayan and performed well. Although, one could argue that he could have performed better.
Conte also confirmed that his side will be without Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil. Both the players are down the pecking order, but they help in adding depth to the squad. This is something that Conte needs.
Spurs play a run of games before the international break, including two Champions League games and also travel to face Manchester City for a league game. The rotation of the players will be key and Conte will know that.
